Hello! My computer seems to be having an issue currently with connecting to the internet via ethernet, or hardwired. I have connection to the local area (They are connected wirelessly) and I can see their P.Cs. The rest of the internet works fine for the other people in the household, so it isn't the fact of the internet being down. So far I have tried: -Rolling back my driver software, and then updating with built in drivers -Resetting the network adapter on my mobo -Pinged myself, got 100% packets received -Ipconfig /release -Ipconfig /renew (This shows me two errors, saying that I am unable to contact DHCP server, and that I had an error when releasing the interface for Loopback Pseudo-Interface , the system cannot find files specified) -Tried different Ethernet cords. -Resetting the TCP/IP via registry. -Diagnosing the connection - Says to investigate the router or broadband modem issue. ______________________________________________ System Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64x OS Network card: NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Network card: NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet #1 Onboard Network Card obv. The weird thing is that we were having issues with it last night, and then all we did was just plug it in harder or mess with the routers. Can i get some help?
don't know enough about windows and networking to tell you why your having problems, but the first things i always try are :-

1:- turn off your pc and modem/router leave off for a minute or so then turn on your modem/router wait for another minute or so and turn on your pc. if you have a separate router and modem, turn the modem on first wait a minute then turn on the router wait another minute then turn on your pc.
2: try setting a static ip address for the pc that is having trouble.
3:- try a different ethernet port on the modem/router if there is one.
4:- try a different ethernet cable
5:- modem/router hard reset, usually a button in a hole on it that needs holding down to achieve this.

sorry but if none of the above fixes your problem then i really have no idea on where to start trouble shooting, you seem to have done everything i can think of like Ipconfig release/renew.

it might be helpful for others tho if you can give the exact error and warning that was displayed when you did this.

-Ipconfig /renew (This shows me two errors, saying that I am unable to contact DHCP server, and that I had an error when releasing the interface for Loopback Pseudo-Interface , the system cannot find files specified)

i did find this tho that may explain and offer a solution to your problem. :- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows…49-4f3b898c27a9
