Have recently had problems with window 7 using adobe flash am told to turn off internet explorer and also will not allow some photos to come up seems like there is a firewall stopping it but I don't know where to look.
Whoever told you to turn off IE did not know what they were talking about. You can certainly try an alternative browser to see if you can view your photos. If you can, it is not a firewall problem.
Is Flash fully updated? Is Windows fully updated? Have you scanned for malware?
