Hi, i had a pc and i didnt format him for a few years…..I had windows XP and now i reinstalled WIndows XP again. But after the format i did in network preferences didnt showing up the icon with local area connection. What should i do for that? THank you and sorry for my enlgish….
It sounds like you have reinstalled, and when you reinstall you need to install the drivers for the system to operate fully, OS's can fill in some of the required drivers, and the newer the OS the more likely it will have a driver, but xp is very limited in this area, so what you need to do is go to the makers site and download the drivers for that specific system. What is the make\model of this system ? Or is it a custom build ? Once we find out what your dealing with we can guide you to the drivers you need, then you will have a fully functional system again.

So you need to know the make/model of my computer?? Where can i see that?

Sorry , my computer skills and my english arent very good. So i would be very thankful if you were more patient.
Thank you
No problem, your doing fine, right the make\model of the system, put simply this is the info you can give if it's a store bought system (eg HP Pavilion or Dell), if this is the case you can often see these details on the hardware in the form of a sticker(s), if you did not buy this from a store then you will need to identify each individual piece of hardware inside the case.

Now should this be a custom build, then each piece needs to be identified on it's own, this is usually much easier than it sounds, although there are a few times it can be hard, but as your running XP I suggest getting and running Everest, install it, and click on Computer, then click Summary, this will list the hardware, and where known (or available) it will give a link you can click on to go to the drivers site for that item, you then have to navigate to the specific hardware (including any version numbers if there) to get the correct driver for it, this is old software now, and some links may not be current, but for older systems I still find it a very useful tool.

Now from what you have said you will probably be unsure when using this, we all feel the same until you get to know the tools, in which case it may be easier for you to produce a hardware report, and save it as an HTML (text) file, obviously as you can't get that system online currently, you will need to download to what your using now, then transfer the file(s) using a thumb (pen\flash) drive to the other system, you will need to transfer the initial drivers the same way until you get it online again.

To produce a report use the Report Wizard from the top menu of Everest, you only want to produce a hardware report, do not check anything but that, select to use an HTML file, once it completes the scan it will open the results (from memory anyway), you then need to Save that file, easiest place to save to is the desktop, it saves having to hunt for it, anyway once the report is saved you can close all windows, then transfer that report onto your current system, then upload it in your next reply, then we can help you get the drivers you need, if your not sure about anything just ask and we will do what we can to help.

In the Pc that i want to setup drivers i dont have any internet connections..So i cant download Everest…
Yes thats why I said you will need to use your current system to get files from online, then transfer them to the other system, sorry if I wasn't clearer. But breaking it down, you are posting here, which means you have a system that can get online, you will need to use this system to go and get any files from online. Once you have saved the file on this system, you will need to transfer it to the other system that requires the files, most people these days have a small USB device capable of storing and transferring data\files between systems, put the downloaded files onto such a device if you have one, then transfer them to the other system, if you don't have such a USB device, then you will need to burn the file(s) to disk, then transfer them that way, but the USB drive is the best option if you have such a device ?

ΟΚ i understand..From where i should download these files??

I suggest getting and running Everest

From the above, click on the word Everest and it will open a web page to get the file from, the page will offer 3 or 4 download links, use any of them and you should be fine, if one link doesn't work just try another link, then save to the desktop for ease of finding, once the download is complete you can then transfer it to the other system as described previous.
