Starting last week, we are no longer able to select Google as a search option in IE. This occurs with both XP sp3 and Win 7 pro. When trying to add Google from the gallery, an "error on page" message shows up and the search doesn't get added. We can still access google search and add it to the favorites, but can no longer make it the default. This also happens with other search engines EXCEPT Microsoft ones.
You seem to be suggesting there is some kind of great conspiracy.
If the problem occurs on multiple computers maybe you should look elsewhere for the problem. Maybe its your ISP, maybe its your firewall, maybe its your router, who knows. Maybe you are at work and your IT people have a web filter that's messing things up. Maybe your have Norton, or McAfee, or Kaspersky or something like that and some goofball released a faulty update last week.
In any case, there is no great conspiracy, and I can find and add Google search from the gallery just fine.
