Hello Win 7 home, i5,1T This Dell XPS 8300 came with Dell Stage, Dell Photo Stage and Dell Video Stage preloaded. I don't use them so I used Revo(safe) and tried to remove all three. Stage and Photo removed easily but Video said "terminated as stage is part of Windows wmc". Two qestions; I assunme it is as it says, part of the system and cannot be removed or should not be. Did I do any harm by removing the first two? Thank you Peter
Simple answer is No, you did no harm uninstalling the other 2 items, shop bought systems are renowned for adding loads of software that not everyone wants, I believe many term it as crapware, I am guessing WMC = Windows Media Centre, again unless you use this it could also be uninstalled, that would then allow you to uninstall the last one you have tried to do, there are many programs you could remove without harm if you don't want\use them, but it is common for one program to be tied into another, but you have not done any harm to the system..

Great to hear and thank you..
Hello I remodled my pc by switching from Norton to MSE and removing a lot of unused programs. I just noticed in device manager three exclamation marks next to removable medie I,J,K. They were not visible till I opened removable media. They say there may be some registry corruption and cannot be used. i don't even know what they are. Any ideas. P.S. When I removed Dell Stage and Dell music it went ok but when I removed dell Stage Video it said it was part of WMC. Thank you
They are your media flash card readers for digital cameras. They should be USB based. Can you post a screen shot of Device Manager show other expanded and another showing USB expanded?

I got to your email too late.
I am using the 2 discs I made when I got the pc including formatting.
I noticed McAfee is preinstalled. Should I remove it with Revo or the McAfee uninstall tool?
The way to uninstall that is to uninstall as normal, then run the uninstall clean up tool from them, thats the way they say to remove their software.
