I have a strange problem.
sometimes my computer mouse dies randomly, mostly when i play games or is about to click on a button.
And the mouse dies and reconnects with the windows sound!!
I've done this following steps:
* New computer mouse
* New motherboard and intel 5 chip and new DDR3 memories
* All latest drivers for everything
* Logitechs mouse and keyboard drivers
* Turned of the power saving on root usb
* installed a new copy of windows 7
* tested all USB ports in my computer
* testet a wireless mouse
And some info about my computer:
* Asus p8 with intel 5
* Radeon 4850
* 3 hard drives 2 ide 1 sata
* 1 cd player
corsair 520 HX
I have no clue what to do next.
Please if anyone out there know how to do help me
Recommended replacement of mouse AFTER testing this device in a different USB plug.
If the device does it one a different port. Then replace the device. If it only happens on that port:
You port may be damaged
Your device may not properly fit into that port (too wide)
I'm sure your mouse problem is very frustrating.
And you seem to have explored a great number of options, some of which appear to be rather major steps and possibly unrelated to the mouse problem.
Wireless mice communicate with the computer via radio frequency, usually in the 2.4ghz range.
There are often other appliances in the environment which conflict because they use this same 2.4ghz frequency.
For instance, Cordless Phones.
Other appliances may conflict because they create RF of a broader spectrum and overlap the 2.4ghz frequency.
For instance, Microwave Oven, Televisions and other entertainment devices.
And of course there is also the home network Router, most of which communicate on 2.4ghz frequency range.
Even seemingly "non-electronic" appliances such as Regrigerators, washing machines, and such can "leak" radio frequency that may interfere.
If your computer is located in a densely populated environment such as an apartment complex or near to businesses or even power lines, interference could be coming from outside of your own home network system.
The most frequent culprit may be Cordless Phone.
Take a look around.
You may have one or more of the types of other appliances or interference sources mentioned above.

Hehehe, I wish I read everything on the first post, you are highly correct. But don't some receivers continue to stay connected even though the mouse is not connected to it? (Mine does) Maybe a USB filter driver is causing th issue, or maybe that particular mouse needed specialized drivers?

Yah. It can be helpful to read the problem statement, discover what has already been tried, and ask for additional information which could lead to a solution.
In this present topic, we will need additional information from the posting member, in order to narrow down a possible solution.
Ideas are always welcome as long as they are not premature and don't close out other possible lines of investigation.
