I am here at Dubai I am planning to buy a desktop computer with following specifications. Please make any suggestion that will improve overall performance of my computer. My use f or day to day home application/office application and surfing of videos on net similar to youtube.com videos. Processor: Intel i-7 (2.93 GHz) Motherboard- Intel RAM- 4 GB Hard disk-500 GB Writer- DVD multibag Cabinet- ATX Graphics- ATI 1 GB Your suggestion please. 1) Will it make big different between i-3, i-5 and i-7? 2) Graphic card is ok – any better graphic card?
Hi greelsvish and :welcome: I don't make specific recommendations but will says this, you made one of two critical mistakes. You stated the purpose of this machine and that is good, but you failed to state your budget You did not mention serious gaming, so you don't need the i7. A nice i5 will be serve you well and even an i3's performance is more than acceptable. My normal recommendation for RAM is 6gb for triple channel memory architecture motherboards and 8Gb for dual channel boards. And to properly use that 6/8Gb you will need a 64-bit OS and I recommend 64-bit Windows 7. Note that there are many motherboards with integrated graphics that are used in high-end home theater PCs (HTPCs) delivering HD video. So a graphics card is not an absolute must for Office use or surfing the net. Do not attempt to save a few pennies by skimping on the power supply. Feed your hardware quality power by getting a quality 80-Plus certified PSU from a reputable maker.
