My father in law and I both have Windows 7 Ultimate. His Computer has a good enough graphics card for Aero Effects. Mine however, has an i845 chipset, which doesn't support Aero effects. I hacked onto his computer through mine, and in the window on my screen, i can see anything that happens on his screen, and i can control his computer too. My question… Why can i view Aero effects in FULL QUALITY, running at FULL SPEED in this window, even though it's still being displayed through my i845???
Yes, the rendering is being done on his computer, Desktop and all effects. When it is remoted to you I suspect it is at a considerably reduced resolution. All remote control software I know of does this to improve performance. I may be wrong but that's my understanding of how it works.
OK still very simplified and very short answer. Yes you're using his computer. Now let me tell you what you're using and its your Network adapter + router maybe for the data transferring. Now your CPU ram graphic card is only used to run your program but not the particles or whatever is happening in his computer. You're transferring data that travels to his monitor but not the data that travels to his graphic card this is the magic why you see everything even whats cant be done on your computer (lhats why i compared it to simple movie). For mouse and keyboard it goes backwards its not you who gets data but his computer (you send data of your mouse/keyboard movements) and thats all there is to it. Hope you understand how it works now :)
thanks. i understand now. i didn't know that i was receiving data after his graphics card displays it. i thought i was receiving data before it, which, now that i think about it, can't be done without his computer using my hardware, therefore needing my drivers for full color and speed. nevermind. dumb question. should have just thought harder instead of getting pi$$ed off when i saw aero on my monitor being controlled with my keyboard and mouse. thanks guys
