I connect to the internet and it crashes when my home page pops up (www.excite.com). Also, it crashes on other sites (random in nature) but 90% of others work fine. Any thoughts? Thanks.

What OS? What browser, Internet Explorer? If so, what version, 7 or 8?

Try starting IE without Add-ons, see if that works. If so then you have an Add-on that is causing the problem.
Use Tools / Manage Add-ons to disable them a few at a time till you find the culprit.

To start IE without Add-ons:
Winkey+R
type iexplore -extoff and press Enter

Hi
if AVG free is the culprit then:
1 uninstall it
2 Reboot your computer ( a full close down not a hibernate/sleep standby etc.)
4 Wait 5 minutes by the clock (not a second earlier)
5 Download the AVG uninstall Tool from the AVG site
6 Run the uninstall tool
7 Reboot
8 Reinstall either AVG or the anti virus product of your choice.
Note
Some versions of AVG will clash and cause severe problems is Zone Alarm is present on your machine...
Post back if you need any clarifications or further instructions.
Regards

I use and highly recommend Microsoft Security Essentials.

I also recommend the Pro version of Malware Bytes Anti Malware, currently selling for $24.95.

The two together make an extremely good Anti-virus / Anti-spyware package. Up to you about MBAM but MSE is very good and highly rated, and it has a very low impact on system resources.
