I have a Davis weather station that transfers data to my Windows 7 computer via a USB cable. It works fine except if the computer goes to sleep. When it comes back the connection is lost and you must close the weather program put it back to sleep and wake up before opening the program again. It will then work fine. Or you can simply disconnect the USB plug and reconnect it without putting it to sleep. Explanation? Any suggestions on fixing this problem? Dave
Hello Ralph124C,
Is it necessary to put your PC to sleep? Have you tried standby mode? When a PC goes into sleep mode or hibernate mode it usually takes a snapshot of your desktop and what is happening at that time on your PC then writes that snapshot to the hard drive then powers off the PC, losing connection to all peripheral devices. When you wake it up, power on, it tries to restore everything back to the way you left it.
Thanks,
Bill
