Hi lance martin,

Sounds like you may have run afoul of one of the reasons why WTT Forums does not support accessing software products from other than their legitimate and legal source. :(

More than likely, you downloaded "more" than what you had wanted, and may have some other nefarious processes now operating on your machine.
Or it is possible that the pirated bundle you downloaded has "less" than what you expected and did not use the MSI while installing.

Be watchful of any other symptoms or indicators of possible infection.
Run your onboard Antivirus and Antispyware, as well as an online scan such as ESET
If you receive any detections, post over to our Virus, Spyware & Malware Removal Forum for attention from one of our excellent specialists.

Does this non-legitimate copy of Office appear in your Control Panel - Add/Remove?
Is there an uninstall routine in the files associated in C:\Program Files\ (whatever the office name is)

Have you attempted to uninstall using any third-party uninstall routine such as Spybot or Revo Uninstaller

Please take seriously the probability that additional scripting/malware may have come with the non-genuine download. You could attempt to uninstall from SAFE Mode. You could attempt to use Revo Uninstaller... items marked with red x are identified as uninstallable by Revo. But frankly, I'd still encourage you to visit our Malware Removal specialists. And even more to the point, I sure wouldn't rely upon a computer and operating system that has that type of garbage installed. Format and reinstall, though tedious and causing loss of saved data, would be the safest course of action. Whatever you decide to do, your first priority should be to preserve saved documents, files and media that are important to you.
