hi again every time we get a incoming phone call when we answer it we get disconnected we phoned sky they checked everything from there end they could not find any problems any ideas any1 as this is getting on my nervous now cant find the problem
Hi Ok I understand…. maybe you could borrow one..just as a check?
I have found that some Sky engineers/fitters, when they wire up for Sky TV, fail to fit an appropriate microsfilter into the main BT socket….. it would be as well to check…

Hi,
the microfilters very rarely go bad…but of course anything's possible, so changing them might be a good idea.
You will need a microfilter plugged into your main BT socket and this next bit is very important AND any other extension sockets that may be installed (in other rooms for example) dont forget the socket used for Sky…
The microfilter should be plugged directly into the BT sockets any other splitter/adapters should be plugged into the microfilter..
(some technicians make a mistake and get this the wrong way around!)
You can get servicable microfilters from Asda..about £3 each…. expect to pay £6 to £8 (GBP) for BT ones!

you never said if your connected wireless or with a cable, so going to assume it's with a cable to your router.
i wouldn't waste my money buying micro filters if they already sent you new ones to test and your problem still exists, like paws says they rarely go bad and it's usually the order they are connected to the phone lines that is the problem, just make sure you've used one on every phone socket in the house that has a phone connected.
also i doubt the problem is with your router,
what i would do is unplug every phone in the house, then connect a filter to the bt socket, connect the router and a single phone to that filter, get online then ring your house to see if you get disconnected, if yes then try a different filter, if still yes(and your not connecting to the router wireless) then i think i'd get onto bt because there is a problem with the line in my opinion.
yes i get my landline/calls and broadband from sky too, so probably it's sky you'll need to contact again if your still getting cutoff after we've established your connections are all right, because i'm pretty sure the problem is going to be somewhere else, maybe the exchange, and sky will need to get in touch with bt or someone to sort it.
your connections should be socket, micro filter, cable from micro filter to phone, cable from micro filter to router, cable from router to pc.
if it's not like that can you explain how your connections are in detail, please. ie. do you have any splitter plugs/extensions.
