HP laserjet P1005 indicates a paper jam, and won't print. I removed cartridge and checked. There is no paper jam–all is clear. I've unplugged printer, disconnected printer, & changed USB port–to no avail. Help, please.
If you are certain no little pieces of paper are in there, then it is likely the mechanics are misaligned, or somehow damage or, they have been jammed up with paper dust/fuzz. If the mechanics are damaged, it would not be cost effective to have it repaired, since that was a budget-level laser to begin with. You could try taking the printer outside and blasting it with compressed air from an air compressor set up for electronics, or from a canned of compressed dusting gas. The more you can disassemble the case, the greater access you can get while blowing it out, and the greater chance of success.
Thanks for your reply, Bill. (Yes, I did see that site about removing the cartridge. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.) While waiting to hear back from someone, I tried turning the computer completely off, then restarting. It worked! Wish I could understand electronics, but thankful for all of you.
Thanks much,
Linda M.
