ok so I have a LAN cable plugged into my laptop going into the ethernet(?) wall plug and I keep getting the message "Cable Unplugged" I thought it might be a faulty cable so went out and bought 2 new ones and still nada. I did a device check and nothing is wrong with the device: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Have even updated the device from Realtek's website. My Wi-Fi has started running so slow I reall need to be using the LAN cable to get optimum speed. Even updated my Wi-Fi device from Intel website and still slow: Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN My laptop is only 18mths old and has been running fine with no probs til a stupid Windows update 2 weeks ago which started the "Cable Unplugged" nonsense. Have been running off Wi-Fi fine til 3 days ago grrrr
