I cannot enable bluetooth. Infact it looks like it totally disappeared from the control panel. I am running XP professional. Where could it be?
No idea why, but something has upset it, simplest solution I can suggest is too reinstall it, hopefully it will re-associate all the elements so it goes back to what it was, hope this helps.
Try the following method to look at Device Manager:

1. Open a Command Prompt.
2. Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and press Enter.
3. Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.
4. Click on the View tab and select Show hidden devices.

What shows in Device Manager, any yellow marks? If your device is listed there, try uninstalling it from the right click menu then reboot and let XP rediscover it and reload the drivers. If not help, try doing a System Restore to a date before the problem occurred.
