hey DO virus exist in CD and DVD ROM? i have never seen a single person scanning any CD or DVD before playing it. Can you clear my mind please

They sure can exist.
Say you burnt your own CD / DVD to copy files / music and one of those files were infected, now it's infected.
It's not really much different then a USB device such as a thumb drive.

An important thing to do on any pc is to disable autorun.
If autorun is enabled and you connect a infected USB device, guess what? You just infected the local hard drive as well.

Users don't want to disable autorun because they have to double click the device to launch the program / music.
