When I shut down my computer, after windows closes, a blue screen appears before it turns off.
The screen says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL then gives me a code like this: 0x0000000A (0x000000B0 0x00000002 0x00000000 0x804EF42A)
Then it says something about BIOS
And at the end it says 'begining sweep of physical memory, physical memory sweep complete'
I have just installed a nvidia 9400 GT graphics card, is that the poblem?
This type of error is almost always a problematic driver.
It has also been known to be software incompatibilities. There is a known incompatibility between an old version of Roxio Easy CD Creator and versions of Itunes that cause your computer to blue screen during shutdown also. I think it is more related to Roxio.
It would be best to see what file is actually causing the problem. In order to read the screen before it spontaneously reboots you need to disable automatic restart on system failure. This will allow you to see all the information presented. We want to know what specific file is mentioned that is causing this blue screen. OK? This will pretty much pinpoint the problem.
I had a problem with when I inserted a DVD that apparently was burned with errors.I thought there is no way in the world that this could be the problem but I am seeinga post in a forum on the exact same problem and I am happy that I am not crazy :))
Anyway I had some bad SCSI drivers error too.Problem is now solved anyway.
I have the irql_not_less_or_equal not on shutdown but a while after my pc is restarted.
If this problem is due to a problematic driver as mentioned here, how can I know which driver is causing this error?
As there are probably hundreds of drivers on my pc that may fail and popup this irql_not_less_or_equal blue screen, is there a way to pinpoint the EXACT problematic driver that makes all this trouble?
is there a way to pinpoint the EXACT problematic driver that makes all this trouble?
Have a look at post 2 in the thread (appleoddity's response) once you have got the exact error code you can search for the soloution
If you are having difficulty with doing this post back with the precise error code and one of us will do our best to help you
