Alright, sorry I couldn't reply back quickly enough. but wooo that driver actually worked! My internet is back up and now I just need to update my other drivers. So I go to get sound back on this thing, and low and behold, same issue. Am I honestly downloading the wrong drivers or something?

there's 3 dv6000's

one with dv6000t
one with dv6000z
and one that says dv6000 cto etc..

err scratch all that, they all have CTO tags on them, so the first dv6000 is the right one. but why aren't the drivers working, and why did the one you get me worked. You must have some magic hands.

I've been downloading from dv6000 cto. bc all i'm gleaning from my computer is that it's just a dv6000, it doesn't say anything else.

but seriously, thank you so much with your help so far, it's been such a headache dealing with all this.

Sounds up, but the UAA Bus driver had issues installing, like usual -.- Downloaded the Conexant Driver and sound popped up after installation

The NVIDIA Geforce driver couldn't be installed because it couldn't locate any drivers that were compatible with my hardware. [Mini-edit] I'm downloading my graphic driver from the nvidia website now…. and got the same error. "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7 Series" and then I searched for the graphics card dv6000's have and got "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200" and downloaded that exact name from the HP website, and got the same error.

I'm also getting this screen when I click on "Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products." Which is option 2.

[Edit4] Read somewhere this error occurs when the chipset drivers aren't installed correctly. Also I'm pretty sure they're not installed, seeing as how they come with the network controller, assuming so since I can see it from the hp website.

[FINAL EDIT] Everything is fixed, apparently I was right from the beginning. I've been downloading the wrong drivers from the wrong PC. My model is dv6135nr. After getting all the drivers from the HP site, everything is all fixed. [/FINAL EDIT]
That is very good news to hear. I'm glad you are persistent as that is often what it takes to resolve problems like this. All is well that ends well (or so I've been told :P ). There must be a lesson here somewhere. Good job!!!!
