My PC (XP SP3) was slow to boot up and I started the Event Viewer/System and noticed that its showing errors at every boot up. I have ran AVG, Malawarebytes, Spybot and McAfees standalone Stinger programs and they all found nothing. Problem now is why is the PC showing these errors. I have just booted up and here is the errors its just diplayed (entry 1 under the Event column is listed to SYSTEM, all the other entries are listed as being under my username) : entry 1 Source : Sysytem error Event : 1003 Error code 100000c5, parameter1 00000004, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 8054bfd2. entry 2 Source : DCOM Event : 10005 DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Well the first entry is whats called a blue screen of death. Have you been having these a lot? Periodic reboots? Or possibly is this problem happening when you tell your computer to shutdown and restart so you are not really noticing it anyways? The other errors are harmless. There is some software on your computer called Windows Live. The SeaPort service is disabled for one reason or another most likely. You can either enable the service, ignore it, or uninstall the Windows Live software all together. Its probably best to just leave it disabled unless you notice something not working properly, other than slow startup. These errors should not be related to your performance problems, it is something else.

Sorry about the delay in posting, just changed over ISP.

My PC refused to turn on one day and when I did mange to get it working that entry was there in the Event viewer.

It has never happened before and has not happened since.
An isolated incident of the BSOD can usually be ignored……However if it keeps happening then it needs investigation. I suggest that until appleoddity gets back to you, you keep an eye on your machine's performance……….at the moment there is no real cause for alarm Regards paws
