hi i have a blue corrupt screen that says: STOP: coooo221 {bad image checksum} The image wow32.dll is possibly corrupt. the header checksum does not match the computed checksum. the computer will start up and after the windows xp loading screen it loads for about 10 seconds then just restarts. so i hit f8 and stopped the automatic restart and it came up with this message. it will just keep on restarting forever. if u have any help or know how to fix this please help.
Matt, wow32.dll is a Microsoft Windows file necessary for correct functioning of the operating system. You have a few options. 1. From Recovery Console, you can attempt to expand wow32.__ and write it over top of the present corrupted .dll 2. You can attempt a Repair Installation using MS Windows installation CD - (note: this should not harm your data and installed applications) **** Note: if you only have a "Branded" Windows installation CD provided by your machine manufacturer (Dell, HP, etc.) then you probably cannot perform a Repair Installation 3. or you can format and reinstall Windows (note: this would cause you to loose your data and installed applications and updates)
