Hello I just purchased this laptop and formatted it in order to clean it up except the last owner doesnt have any of the drivers and in the system info my ethernet controller has an exclamaition mark in it (conflict) i cant seem to find trhese drivers anywhere not even on the gateway website can anyone help me out please Regards
Hi and welcome to the WTT forums,
Sorry to hear of the problem with your machine.

If you post back with the exact make and model number we will try and identify it and locate a driver for you.

In the meantime its worth uninstalling the driver (via Device Manager) and then closing down your machine in the normal way ( a full shutdown not a sleep/hibernate etc) waiting 30 seconds with a blank black screen and then restarting…….there is a chance that Windows may find a suitable driver and install it (if so the Yellow exclamation mark should disappear)

If it doesn't, then its a question of finding the driver in your back up…..(if you made one before you reformatted) or getting a suitable driver from the net. From a quick visit to the Gateway site this page may provide the drivers you need,

if not post back with any identifying serials from the plate on the bottom of the laptop and we will see what else we can come up with.
