i purchased computer used and now i scanned for drivers. messages reads most drivers are outdated. what does this mean? will this have anything to do with why i cannot save info to cd? or some music won't play? or why i cannot play mp4?
Driver scans are for the most part bogus. Never use the suggested drivers. Your computer and or motherboard manufacturer will have all the drivers you need if you do need them. Drivers do not need updating unless you have an issue (with the exception of graphics drivers which change rapidly mostly due to new gaming software). Since you do mention issues: What is the make and model of the computer? Do you have any third party media software outside of Vista?
i have a dell. and i am currently running itunes and realplayer and adobe. but the guy i bout it from has different brand names of applications also, can you recommend a antivirus protection?
Sorry for the delay.

What is the exact Dell model? Dell has all your drivers (if needed):

I use two free anti-virus which I recommend:

Avira

http://www.free-av.de/en/trialpay_download…_antivirus.html

Avast

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Avast requires a free registration via e-mail. Avira just prompts you upon daily update to go to their Pro version.

Anyway both free versions should be sufficient for a home user.
