no new programs were installed that I can see, but one of my kids PC will not open IE7. Other browsers work fine. other communication software are OK like messenger. tried installing IE8 with same results, tried sfc /scnannow, no results ran all virus, malware software... right as it starts, get a message that there is an error, and then it closes anyone knows what this could be? thks, soso

Try starting IE7 without Add-ons, see if it will start that way.

Click on Start / Run type iexplore -extoff and press Enter.

If yes, then use Tools / Manage Add-ons to disable them until you find the one causing the error.
