TomK has been working with me to determine whether my computer had been infected with malware, etc. My computer seems to be fine regarding that issue, however, while working with TomK, it was determined the system restore is either not available or not working properly. TomK suggested I post a topic on the Windows Forum for assistance and to include the following:

http://forums.whatthetech.com/Missing_Mixe….html&st=30

Also, I requested assistance initially for the missing "mixer devices" (Sound Max) as well as other issues I have no idea how to explain. Approximately 3 weeks ago, I went on-line to listen to a teaching video. I could see the video, but it had no sound. In checking other websites, i.e. YouTube etc., the result was the same. A day or two later, I tried it again - there were some videos I could hear others I could not. I have AOL e-mail and normally when you sign on you hear "You've Got Mail" … can't hear it.

The System is running slowly on startup and when print que is initiated. Sometimes after turning the computer on or restarting it, my desktop does not load properly. I'm a rookie when it comes to resolving computer issues and would really appreciate help. My computer has the following:

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3.
3.20 GH Intel Pentium D
250 GB hard drive

Thanking you in advance,
wkrivo

I have a custom computer with:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3
250 GB hard drive
1.93 GB of ram
3.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium D processor
Motherboard - ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5V800-MX Rev 1.xx

Your board drivers are here:

http://support.asus.com/download/download….SLanguage=en-us

They do not allow direct links so go to: Product = Motherboard / Series = Socket 775 / P5V800-MX

Try that Audio driver.

Also as to other issues do you have your original XP CD on hand?

If so one of the first things you can try is to run the System File Checker as seen here:
