Okay better, how's it running. Some updating to do and another scan in order I think.

[external image: Posted Image] Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application. Beware it is NOT supported for use in 9x or ME and probably will not install in those systems

Upgrading Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE)JRE 6 Update 15.
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Select your Platform and check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.".
  • Click on Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u15-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop. Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager..
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.(Vista users, right click on the jre-6u15-windows-i586-p.exe and select "Run as an Administrator.")

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'd like for you to run this next online scan to check for remnants or anything that might be hidden.
The below scan can take up to an hour or longer, please be patient.
*Note
It is recommended to disable onboard antivirus program and antispyware programs while performing scans so no conflicts and to speed up scan time.
Please don't go surfing while your resident protection is disabled!
Once scan is finished remember to re-enable resident antivirus protection along with whatever antispyware app you use.
Please do a scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner or from here
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Note: If you are using Windows Vista, open your browser by right-clicking on its icon and select 'Run as administrator' to perform this scan.
  • Click on the Accept button and install any components it needs.
  • The program will install and then begin downloading the latest definition
    files.
  • After the files have been downloaded on the left side of the page in the Scan section select My Computer.
  • This will start the program and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run. (At times it may appear to stall)
    * Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
    * Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
    * Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report To obtain the report:
Click on: Save Report As
Next, in the Save as prompt, Save in area, select: Desktop
In the File name area, use KScan, or something similar In Save as type, click the drop arrow and select:
Text file [*.txt]
Then, click: Save
Please post the Kaspersky Online Scanner Report in
your reply.
(Note.. for Internet Explorer 7 users:
If at any time you have trouble with the "Accept" button of the license, click on the "Zoom" tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license has been accepted, reset to 100%
.)
Or use Firefox with IE-Tab plugin
i did the kaspersky scan, but when i hit save it just grayed out the button, and a save as box never appeared, so i will try to run that scan again
Then try again and see if you can save it. If not just note what it found and where. It may just find things that are already quarantined by combofix. We could also try another scanner.
no report again, but i was able to copy and paste the results. C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\.housecall6.6\Quarantine\egybmqyibk.exe.bac_a02288 Trojan.Win32.Buzus.bnpu 1 C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\.housecall6.6\Quarantine\ij67knbyu46.exe.bac_a02288 Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent.aven 1 C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\.housecall6.6\Quarantine\SKYNETkmqrsnto.sys.bac_a02288 Trojan.Win32.TDSS.aohy 1 C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\.housecall6.6\Quarantine\SKYNETkmqrsnto.sys.bac_a03904 Trojan.Win32.TDSS.aohy 1 C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\.housecall6.6\Quarantine\SKYNETldmigiqj.dll.bac_a02288 Trojan.Win32.Agent.crez 1 C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\Business Plan Pro 11.0\bppenu1114beta.exe Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent.alvo 1 C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\Downloads\Business Plan Pro 11.0.rar Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent.alvo 1 C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\NPMySrWB.dll not-a-virus:WebToolbar.Win32.MyWebSearch.i 1 C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\WINDOWS\system32\wiwow64.exe.vir Trojan-Downloader.Win32.DlfBfkg.yj 1 C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\WINDOWS\Temp\tmp0_854361274510.bk.old.vir Trojan-Downloader.Win32.DlfBfkg.yj 1
Most of what it found is in either TM's quarantine, or combofix qoobox (quarantined, and we'll clean those out later). You don't even appear to be running Trend Micro any more correct? If not then you can remove this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\.housecall6.6
Question, are you running a Business Plan Pro software? If so where did you get it? These files appear to be infected. If you do not know where they came from, or if you know that they were not obtained legitimately, then you should remove the .rar file and the Business Plan Pro 11.0 folder, as bolded.
C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\Business Plan Pro 11.0\bppenu1114beta.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\Downloads\Business Plan Pro 11.0.rar
Time for some housekeeping
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
    [external image: Posted Image]
The above procedure will:
  • Delete the following: ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
  • Reset the clock settings.
  • Hide file extensions, if required.
  • Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
  • Reset System Restore.
the above steps are done. the computer seems to be running good at this point. is there anything else that needs to be done with this one, because now my other computer is inoperable. they were linked together on the same network, so i don't know if something from this one got on there or not. whatever is on the other one it changed my background image to say that your computer is infected and has stopped. it won't let me open task manager, i get the message that says your administrator had disabled task manager, it is also saying that Mozilla doesn't exists. there is also a message when windows starts that says error loading tapi.nfo. the specific module cannot be found. then it also might have a fake spyware because it keeps telling me that me to install this spyware program. what reports do you require to see what is up with the other one. Thank you for all your help thus far.
Hi Kyle,
If you're all set with this one I'll just give you some final words of wisdom here.
In addition to updating and using what you currently have you may want to consider the following:
Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. Here are some free and evalutation versions that provide
better security than the Windows Firewall.Online-Armor
Outpost Firewall
For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some other available ones see the link below:
Understanding and Using Firewalls
Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware
Install Winpatrol -
Use Winpatrol to take control of your PC and provide another layer of security.
Help file and tutorial can be found Here
Block unwanted parasites with a custom hosts file -
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly or set your computer to receive automatic updates. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
Update all of your Anti-Malware programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed and the ones you are currently running regularly. Without regular updates you Will Not be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Keep your applications up to date -
Use Secunia Personal Software Inspector to help stay on top of application updates that could leave your PC vulnerable to attack.
