Hello everyone, I am not very good with computers but can muddle by. I keep having this issue every year or so. when i get my window updates…I install them but they keep offering them to me–they show as updated on the windows update page. This time when i tried to email windows support i tried to install the active x control but it showed up that explorer would not allow it to which then would not allow me to email them for support. can someone please help me ;) pretty please
Hi Connemara…Welcome to WhatTheTech…

Download and run this program: Dial-A-Fix (The file is a .zip file that you will have to open in order to find the dial-a-fix.exe file.)

When the program opens, click the "Flush Softwaredistribution" button under section #3, and then answer "No" when you are prompted about preserving Windows update history.

When that is finished, please select all items in sections #1, #2, and #3. When you check a few of these options, others will automatically be checked. Please allow this to happen and then click 'GO'. When Dial-A-Fix is finished, restart your computer, revisit the Microsoft update website and install any offered updates. See if it continues to re-offer the same updates again.

Pay special attention to the possibility that the updates are failing.
