I usually get this message upon start-up or a few minutes after i've been running my computer. I want to say this has been happening for at least one month. I do think I added any hardware( what would count as hardware though?) But I have added and also removed Software. All of this was probably done after a Windows Update, because of the error message and annoyingly slow speed, I have not been able or had the patience to do a Windows update. Oh, and What is SP2 and SP3 ?
I meant to say I didn't add any hardware.
I have service pack 1 but it is for Vista.
I have removed some software I didn't use or need. I also ran several virus and spyware programs because my computer was running slow. It is still slow and now I get the stack overload.
As Ztruker already have asked, when do you get those stack overflow messages??
Its vital to know that, as any program in theory can make a overflow. With no info on when
and what, its shooting in the dark. For instance, does it occur when you use your browser?
What are you doing leading up to and at the moment the error happens?
We would gladly help you, but we need something to work with. Think of it like going to the
car-mechanic. You don't just hand it in, saying it won't work or drive. One usually tells that it
makes a noise here or there, or the breaks whines, windows won't roll down etc. etc.
The more info, the better. Remember we don't sit in front of your screen.
Hi
Does it happens if you boot into safe-mode?
Tap F8 key right after first BIOS-screen or beep, whichever comes first.
A black DOS-like menu will appear if you caught it right
Use your arrow keys to navigate to safe-mode without network.
(Login with your usual user-account)
If you don't get the overflow, then the culprit is likely to be software, and
highly likely that software would be among your startup programs.

Within the task-manager, you need to disable as many start-up entries as possible, until you no longer
get the overflow error. The trick is to remember what program you disabled last and where you didn't get
the error.
So:
Task-manager
Disable startup entry for a single program
Reboot
Until you hit jackpot.
There might be an easier way, but with my knowledge on Vista this is the way I would do it.
