I have Windows XP Professional installed on a Dell Dimension 8400. I'm unable to open any anti-virus or anti-spyware websites for updates or to downloiad new programs. Also, I can not use system restore. This happened suddenly today while I was surfing the web. The problem started when Spyware Doctor with Anti-virus blocked my Yahoo homepage and said Yahoo was a bad website. I now have no virus protection and I can not acquire any because downloads don't work. I think I have a trojan that Spyware Doctor with Anti-virus missed. Any help to correct this problem will be appreciated. Thanks. ******************************************************************************** ******************************************* I was able to correct the problem by downloading the free Avast Antivirus . The Avavst Antivirus discovered a Win32:Fasec [Trj} in my restore files when my machine was booting up. I also used the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware which also removed 2 trojans.. I hope that this will help other people that have similar problems.
