company of heros problem

hey all i have a big problem when i put company of heros into my cd/dvd drive it comes up as but when i get to the patch bit it just stops at 24.25 and it says cannot contine please try again later? i have had the game installed and was playing it but it crashed after about 3 days of playing itand had my computer wouldnt restart. so i took it to my computer shop and he fixed that promblem and now it not even install has anyone got any idears please? thanks alot for reading hope you have advise

24.25/132.15 that is how much it has to load.

and when i took it to the comp shop he cleard everything off so i had to reinstall everything.

kind of lik a reboot thing sorry im rubbish at computers

That is no problem, but it would be nice to see a detailed story. There is still a lack of useful information to help troubleshoot this problem..

Do you mean download? Or when it is installing the amount of MBs that have to be created?

Also, what Operating System (XP/Vista/whatever) are you on? Do you only get that error message or more when installing CoH? Do you have the same problem with other programs?

You say that you are trying to install a patch. Are you sure it is an official patch (the download may be damaged)? Does the original Company of Heroes program already work?

These are just a couple of questions to get you started. Please remember that the more information you include, the better we will be able to help you, because I may be thousands of kilometers/miles away and cannot see what happens on your screen. Include anything that you think COULD be related to the problem and MAY lead to a solution.

When you install CoH, and it gets to the bit about updating / patching, don't you
get an option to say no to this update / patch? Problem may be that your Firewall
or other security application is blocking this request. And you don't get to see the
notification of this because you are in the CoH installer.

So if you get a option to say no to this update / patch, then do so.

Next, find the patch you need from here: http://cohpatch.relic.com/index.html

Download it to your desktop and run the update / patch installer from there.
If you still get a error, try do it in safe-mode.

To access safe-mode:

Keep tapping F8 right after first BIOS screen.
A Black menu screen will pop up (If windows starts to load, you need to restart and try catch it again)
Choose Safe-mode in that menu using your arrow keys.

Then try install yet again.
