Hey guys, my friend is having issues in a game on the PC. The game is Nascar racing 2003 season and the problem he's having is that whenever he hit's the "Multiplayer" button in the game it crashes. I've given him some advice (which was to uninstall mods), but it didn't work. Just wondering if you guys could help out, by the way it wasn't doing this about a month or two ago.
Hi sonykicks,

Can you ask your friend to register here on WTT with details of the system that is giving problems so we can assist further….thanks.

To make it easier, go to

  • My Computer
  • Properties
  • The basic details will be there for posting
Also when your friend posts, ask that he/she gives us specific detail as to what is exactly happening and any error messages that appear before the system 'crashes'.

Best regards,
Good Morning sonykicks, Thanks, that is the best way to go to have your friend sign up in his own right. Make sure he posts a new thread with detailed information as to what is the actual problem and his computer specifications so we can give him the best of help. It would also help to post any error messages that are evident just before the computer 'crashes'. The best link to follow is the one in my signature at the bottom of this post. Best regards,

Have you cleaned out your temp folders lately. If not download and run ATF-Cleaner by Atribune at least once a week, reboot and try your game again.

Also please go to
  • Start
  • Control Panel
  • Administrative Tools
  • Event Viewer
Please report back with any errors specific to your problem.

kind regards,
Were there any errors in EventViewer? I take it Windows did not offer a solution as showing in your screen shot? Have you tried uninstalling the game software and reinstalling. Please run AFT cleaner between ininstall and reinstall. regards,
Ok before i came here i reinstalled the game 8 times. I just reinstalled it again and ran the cleaner as you said. Still crashes. And there were no errors in the event viewer.
Hi,

Always tell us all information when you follow the link in my signature. I had no idea you had uninstalled and reinstalled now 9 times in all. Of course if I had known I would not have needed to suggest uninstalling and reinstalling.

It is a PC, so how long is it since you cleaned out the dust bunnies from inside your tower? If never, this will take you sometime to do. After attending to the tower and it's dust bunnies, reboot before trying your game again.

You could also go to
  • Start
  • Run
  • type 'dxdiag' without the quote
  • Let it update in the lower left
  • Then use the tabs at the top to diagnose any problems.
If still no joy, download and run HDTune. HDTune is a hard disk benchmarking and information tool.

If none of the above helps you, another volunteer may come by with a different diagnostic view of your problem.

best regards,
Hi nascarcostums, The first thing, and about the only, that I thought of immediately is the firewall. Have you got any firewall enabled (remember there is also a built-in firewall in Windows Vista)? Try disabling the firewall(s) for a second and see if it works then. Remember that being connected without a firewall enabled is pretty dangerous, so enable your firewall immediately after you checked if it worked without. Also, when did you start having this problem? After installing any new software/drivers/hardware or just out of nothing? Please let us know. Regards, John.
