Hi, I have been using RoboForm Pro for many years to go to my websites and it will automatically enter my Username & Psswd into them (where I don't have to type anything). Eventough I've never had a problem with anyone stealing anything  I just want to DOUBLE CHECK your Opinion. Is it possible for a Keylogger to "Steal" from the RoboForm process?? Thanks…
Hi VirusFree,

Is it possible for a Keylogger to "Steal" from the RoboForm process??

Is there a kind of list where it will show all your login names and passwords? Probably some malware would be able to steal your passwords. Backdoor trojans can take control anyway, because they can just control your computer remotely. That means he could either take a look in the passwords list of RoboForm or just browse to any website you normally login to automatically and he will be logged in to your account automatically as well.

If there is a solution to this apart from always entering your password manually? No, even that could be logged by keyloggers. It is just very important that you have a good firewall and Anti-Virus software and do not do very strange things on the internet. One thing that I recommend is that you do not enter things like banking passwords in RoboForm and do enter them manually every time.

Have I answered your question? Any other questions on this matter?

John.
Hello VirusFree. RoboForm themselves state on their homepage that the program can be used to "defeat keyloggers". But this is true only to some extent. In the face of today's Malware, Keyloggers often come bundled with other backdoor trojans and infections so even if the hacker doesn't get your information through the keylogger, he can use the trojan to control RoboForm and gain your passwords. In a way, it is a win-win situation for the hacker.

However, having it definitely has some benefit than going without it.

what is more secure - typing password manually, or copypasting? As far as i understand, when you type manually - you are in a risk of being caught by a keylogger, but when you copypaste, your clipboard might be hacked? Am i right ot it's all paranoia? =)
Hi, I have absolutely no idea and I think it is true that it is all a little paranoia. If you have Anti-Virus software, Firewall software (or a router and Windows Firewall), install all the updates and service packs of Microsoft and last but not least use the brains you have, everything should be fine and you will not pick up those really bad baddies. Please let us know if you have any more questions :) Regards, John.
