I am running an Emachines W3052, Win XP Home with SP3, 2GB Ram, 120GB HDD and 3000+ AMD Sempron processor. I also have Spybot, Spywareblaster and guard, zone alarm and Norton Antivirus running. Whatever this is blasted through it like nothing…

Now: Norton won't update, Spybot won't open (only right click scans possible), system restore won't open and HijackThis! wouldn't install. I managed to get an older version to work so I have a log. I also have 5 web browsers installed - internet explorer gives an xpsp3res dns error and doesn't work at all - neither will Firefox or Safari. Opera does let me navigate but to nothing that will let me clean the system. Searches on Google bring up unfamiliar web pages - never what I want.

Fortunately, I have this laptop to let me research a solution as I don't want to format if I can avoid it. I have tried everything I know to clean this - even hooking up the hdd from the desktop to this laptop via ide to usb cable and deleting whatever I found to be infected (at least I got the mouse back in safe mode as it was disabled at first).

Fortunately, I had this posted on several different forums as one finally solved it. In 5 minutes, my computer was cleared. I'm posting that solution here as it may benefit someone else. You have TDSServ.sys symptoms ? Is ur Pc was infected by roguewares such as Antispyware 2009 Try these steps ( just for minor check-up ) Click on Start, click Run, and then type devmgmt.msc and click OK On the View menu click on Show hidden devices Browse to Non-Plug and Play Drivers and you should see something like TDSSserv.sys Highlight that driver and right click on it and select DISABLE Now RESTART your computer. Download a copy of Malwarebytes but DO NOT run it yet. Rename the downloaded installer file to any generic name such as your own name but keep the .EXE extension on the file and run it. Once the program is installed go to the UPDATE tab and try to update the program if you can. Then go to the SCANNER tab and run a Quick Scan and allow MBAM to fix anything found.
