I know this might be suitable more under Networking forum but this is generally a hardware question that makes me wonder.. Hope some of you could answer me.
Very simple question, what makes Belkin so much more expensive than other brands like Linksys or Aztech or others?
Thanks
i dont find that Belkin products are more expensive than other brands. Are you referring to a separate cable modem and a hardware router? or a single modem-router combination? ISP's maintain lists of approved modems for use on there network. For example: heres Cox Cable list of approved modems:
$99 for a four port modem/router with wireless, which is about equivalent to the rest price wise.
Besides the big guns, with a Billion 7404VGPM going for $225 and the Draytek Vigor 2820 going for $355.
Nope, not Billion it's Belkin. How much does it costs for a typical wireless router in your place? I mean Belkin in particular.
Here in Denmark, the cheapest is about 239 danish kroner's (41 us dollars)for a Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 and the most expensive lies at 567 / 943 / 1428 danish Kroner's for a Belkin N1 Wireless Modem Router, 3 variants (98 / 162 /246 us dollars ) with a lot in between those prizes, but middle-ground here seems to be around 500'ish danish kroner's (86 us Dollars) for a typical average Router.
In my country, Malaysia, the price of modem/router wireless Belkin is unusually high, typically about 500 MYR, where as other variants like Linksys, Aztech and among others only costs about 100-300 MYR. But there is a market demand here for Belkin too, so I'm not sure is it because Belkin's model offer a better and higher reliability, quality, etc etc in the range of their products.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback guys!
