start up

hi small problem i guess, but about a week ago when i start up or reboot my laptop while the programs are loading i get a "system config utility" widow opens up. i have never had this before and wondered what was causing this. thanks tuxedo

Have you used MSconfig to make any changes to your start menu?
In the lower left hand corner there is a box with Do not show this again.
Put a check in the box and it will not pop up when you start the computer.

HFCG if your still in there i have just rebooted but system config window does not have a check box in the corner rgds tuxedo

thanks tallin, it just comes up asking me to launch system restore, but i can just close without, its just i have not seen this window before thanks tuxedo

Hi Tuxedo, Please send a screen shot of the Systems Restore box that comes up, as that is an entirely different command to the Msconfig box. showing on start up. kind regards,

What you are describing does not sound like normal behavior.
Any time your computer shows a change, and you did not make the change (MSCONFIG) than I suspect malware.
Has the error messege that pops up changed now?
I can not see the computer telling you to do a system restore, does not happen.
So I am suggesting that you post in the malware forum, and then come back to this post if you still have issues.
OH DO NOT do the system restore.
If it is malware you do not realy know what it is trying to do.
