PLEASE HELP!! I had originally had Microsoft Professional Edition 2003 working perfectly that i got with the computer, and then at some point it stopped working. I had then decided that my best option was to get a 2007 version online for a 60 day trial. My 60 days are up, now neither of them work and I am stuck with both. My next step was that I uninstalled the 2007 trial, but every time I try open an attachment from an email whether it be for Excel or Word it still opens up in the 2007 version ,but I cant make any changes to it because the trial is up. The 2 things that are wrong are: 1) Everytime i open an attachment 2007 still opens up eventhough i uninstalled it 2) each time i try opening 2003 it starts installing and then gives me this message " A required insalation file SKU011.CAB could not be found" i dont have the disk anymore, I must have lost it, is there anyway to fix this? DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW I CAN FIX THIS BIG PROBLEM!!!!

Hi myown4nw,

Please go to Add and Remove and tell us what Microsoft Professional Edition 2003 and any other similar installations show there please? If the trial version 2007 is still showing, download and run Windows installer Cleanup utility to clear out the trial version. Please read about it thoroughly before executing it.

If Microsoft Professional Edition 2003 is showing in Add and Remove, click on the repair button to see if that will run.

You will need your original CD for your Microsoft Professional Edition 2003 to repair the installation if it is corrupt.

Keep us posted,

kind regards,

i think it still has some components of the 2007 if it really opens the 2007 application.

try removing the installer and edit registry to successfuly remove it. but there's no guarantee that teh 2003 will work after. and make sure you're only removing what is suggested. if you're not comfortable or is apprehensive in doing it then please dont.

start by removing installer files of 2007. remove office 2007 trial

(another site) uninstall office 2007 trial

A required installation file file_name.CAB could not be found it's worth checking

if all do not work, try contacting microsost as suggested if there are other ways(you probably need to pay to seek help if your copy is oem) of fixing it without using the the office 2003 CD.

best of luck
