well "mailbox unavailable" is usually means a "busy" condition, or an incorrect e-mail address inside a valid domain....however these have different error numbers than 554, (450, 550).
554 usually refers to a failing transaction or service and can indicate that the ISP may be blocking port 25.
In your case it could also mean that the "new" mailbox may not yet been fully allocated within yahoo's server.
Yahoo has different descriptions for 554 errors so it does not seem that you are getting thru to Yahoo. See if port 25 is open.
