Hibernation problem

Gateway MX3416 notebook goes into hibernation upon closing the lid but resumes itself automatically (with lid still closed) within 10 min to 2 hours, it varies. Have done numerous malware, adware, virus and spyware scans. Also went through the malware help on this site. Was given the all clean on HJT logs. problem still persists. They recommended seeking help here Would appreciate any help Thanks PS Hibernation function did work up until about 3 months ago.

what OS ? did you check your Scheduled Tasks ? likely a windows issue and not hardware.
