Hello,

This will get rid of the rest of BitComet.

Open Notepad Go to Start> All Programs> Assessories> Notepad ( this will only work with Notepad )and copy all the text inside the Codebox by highlighting it all and pressing CTRL C on your keyboard, then paste it into Notepad, make sure there is no space before and above Folder::

Folder::
C:\Program Files\BitComet

Registry::
[HKLM\~\services\sharedaccess\parameters\firewallpolicy\FirewallRules]
"{17C5F32D-E843-4ADC-9DAA-759CFFAEC474}"=-
"{4181394E-27E8-47B7-BFAA-C109762AFF01}"=-
"TCP Query User{E45AFA49-3E0A-464F-B2A8-06EA7D61EF6C}C:\\program files\\bitcomet\\bitcomet.exe"=-
"UDP Query User{DD588756-840E-4D52-A2A0-EEC1344E44F3}C:\\program files\\bitcomet\\bitcomet.exe"=-

Save this as CFScript to your desktop.

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.
Sorry for the delay..

My IE still hangs all the time…
Your logs look fine Malware wise. But I am looking at TWO ANTI VIRUS AND TWO FIREWALLS INSTALLED You should never have more than one AV and one Firewall because they can cause issues. If your happy with Norton, then uninstall AVG and Comodo. You can have two Firewalls only if one is a software firewall and one is a hardware firewall ( from your router for instance ) but not two software.

AVG8
Comodo Firewall
Norton Internet Security 2007
<—This includes a firewall also

Try running this cleaner also, IE and your system may just be clogged up.

Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer.
  • Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
  • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
  • On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
  • If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
  • Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
  • Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
  • Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items.
  • After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.

*NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!
**Note** Go to Options> Cookies and any you want to keep move them to The Keep window

The reg fix you did <—Drag it to the trash

RSIT <–Your call to remove or keep it

CCleaner <– Yours to keep, run it now and then to clean out the clutter.

Malwarebytes <– Yours to keep also, check for updates and run a scan now and then.

Hijackthis <—Your call, hopefully you won't need it again, if you do you can redownload it

Combofix <—Is not a general cleaning tool, just run it with supervision or you can bork your system

There is no RUN box on Vista by default, very simple to add it
1. Right click on the Vista start menu and click Properties.
2. In the properties window select the Start Menu tab and click Customize.
3. Scroll down and tick the box to the side of Run Command. Click OK and now you can see Run Command in the start menu.

  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

    • [external image: Posted Image]

  • When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"

The above procedure will:
  • Delete the following:
    • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
    • VundoFix backups, if present
    • The C:\Deckard folder, if present
    • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
  • Reset the clock settings.
  • Hide file extensions, if required.
  • Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
  • Reset System Restore.

  • How did I get infected in the first place ? Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.
  • Tutorial for System Restore <– Do this first to prevent yourself from being reinfected.
  • WhattheTech
  • TonyKlein CastleCops
  • Grinler BleepingComputer

  • Dslreports

Let me know if any of the above helped and if not I can link you to some windows support forums that deal with issues like your having
Thanks for your help so far! I uninstalled Norton antivirus before installing comodo and AVG.. Strange that its still around though I dont see it in the program list..
If you look at your HJT logs 023 entries, part of Norton is still running as a service, sometimes uninstalling Norton does not get the whole thing. You can run this removal tool from Norton that will get the rest of it, it was designed by Norton for bad installs or removal.
