I have Windows XP and run up-to-date Norton antivirus at all times. I downloaded some software and and installed it and Norton caught some viruses and said it effectively deleted or quartentined them. However, now my Windows Explorer.exe keeps crashing. I can reboot it in taskmanager, but it is only a few seconds before it crashes again.
I removed all the new software and did a registry clean. I did another virus scan - no viruses found. I've rebooted several times. No luck. I tried to do a system restore, but the program was so big, it maxed out the restore memory setting so I can't restore to before the installation. I'm getting very worried because this is my company computer and I am not supposed to have Admin access, but I do. Really hoping to get this resolved before Monday!
In Event view, I keep having System errors of W32Time when Explorer crashes. "The time provider NtpClient is configured to acquire time from one or more time sources, however none of the sources are currently accessible. No attempt to contact a source will be made for 29 minutes. NtpClient has no source of accurate time. "
Here is my HJT log:
