After what - about three days of being 'good' my machine has been shutting down and restarting with a vengence. It generally runs the same way - I start up and things appear fine, then clicking to something will bring up an 'ie cannot display' if I had click something internet related or an error message about tea timer, runtime or winsock. There will be a stuttering if there's audio playing and then the blue flash/black screen/restart. I've also had a couple of messages about free scans for my registry or whathaveyou - which I just close. These have been popping up after I've been on the internet for a bit. The only time I've seen the trojan warning (pws bancos) was when I ran the Combofix thingie.
Do you have your windows cd?

You can use windows sfc (system file checker) You'd need your XP CD to make this work.
Click Start> Run> type sfc /scannow Note the space.
(Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)
