On a compute running Windows 2000 SP4, Firefox and IE will no longer run and connect to the internet. Outlook works fine, and internal networking functions work fine. When IE is launched, it goes straight to a crash report window, and offers to restart IE - and the same thing happens again. Double-clicking Firefox results in a brief hour glass, then nothing.
McAffee-based software from Sonicwall found nothing. Adaware found nothing, AVG anti-malware found Downloader.agentc, and is still looking.
All other programs and functions work fine.
I am not the computer's primary user, but from what I was told, the user was on a medical website, and was suddenly redirected to a pornographic site - after that, the problems started. Initially, there was no internet access, but an LSP fix got us to where we are now.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
