Hi There, I find the Task Manager in my Windows Vista Home Premium is not working. From time to time, one of my applications freezes (mostly AOL) and where previously I used Task Manager (via CTRL+ALT+DEL) to shut down the offending application, it no longer will work although it opens as usual. Therefore, to remedy the problem of a frozen application, I have to restart my computer - most irritating!!! CAn anyone hlp to normalise the situation. Thanks. Norman
Look in the 'event viewer' to see what application is hanging and causing the freeze-up.

type eventvwr in the start search box.

Hi Jacee, I am still unable to decipher events listed in the event viewer and not really sure what I have to look for. I inadvertantly repeated my original post in my response to your reply rather than this message as well as uploading a screen shot of my event viewer which may (or not) be able to help you see what's going on. Thanks for your help so far and I await response. Norman
