i am running Windows XP on my Dell computer. about a month ago, when i turned my computer on, i got a message telling me that windows was unable to file is missing or corrupt: windows/system32. i had my system wiped and windows reinstalled. my computer was running again but much slower. now, i just turned my computer on and i got the same message. i cant boot up in safety mode, or the other options. i cant afford to keep taking it to a shop. is there anything i can do? i also dont know where my installation disk is.
When You Boot up, keep taping on the F8 key, When the options show pick the one that says "best last …………" I've been successful with booting up on that choice. Good Luck!
Frank Murray meant for you to select Last Known Good Configuration.

If it works, it should help as it restores the registry, which is the cause of this problem.

How do you shutdown your computer (is it a desktop or laptop)? Do you click on Start then Turn Off Computer then Turn Off or Shutdown or do you just drop power?
