Im running windows xp home edition on my dell and it wont even boot up. i tried to reinstall the setup disk for repair and it wont run all the way through. when i cut it on, it said a file was corrupt or missin. i cant remember what file it is. something like windows ds 32?

Is this the same computer (your Sisters) that you posted two HJT logs for help in January 2007?
Please give more information. What for instance were you doing before this problem became evident? Was the computer running normally when last you shut it down?
