Several times I have come across writing on several forums that require Vertical line to be inserted between two letters, there being space on each side of the line. I am getting frustrated because on my one year old Dell keyboard there is no such symbol!! I have tried I and l (i & L) but no luck. Can someone enlighten me about this?

I am not going to tell you how long it took me to first find it, figured it was some special key combination. Then I asked.
