I've been getting random errors on my computer for some time now. I've had random Windows crashes when surfing the internet, as well as hangups when shutting down. For quite a while, my computer would lock up randomly when using Oracle (JInitiator, Java based). When only using Oracle, I would get lockups very infrequently, but they seem to happen more often when I have Outlook open as well (happened with 2003 as well as 2007). When these lockups happen, they will totally lockup the computer, resulting in a blue screen if I wait long enough. The driver referenced in the blue screen is usually a video driver (nv4.dis if I remember right). I was on Dell's website (I have a Latitude D830 laptop) yesterday and noticed new video drivers so I downloaded and installed them. After this, I decided to remove all versions of Java from my computer and reinstall the latest one to try to fix the above problem. After doing this, I started getting some new errors when shutting down I don't remember seeing. These include errors that say "DLL Initialization Failed: The application failed to initialize because the window station is shutting down". The files referenced for these errors are dumprep.exe, drwtsn32.exe, and dwwin.exe. Also, I had a more standard Windows crash with the window that says "The application encountered a problem and had to close" with the ActiveSync RAPI Manager. I've run Adware, Spybot, and Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. Not sure where to go from here.
