Looking for a program to make a banner

I'm looking for a free software option for making a banner for my blog. It doesn't have to be a tool designed just for such things but could also be one that incorporates the ability to make one into it.
I'm waiting for a average computer that can't be infected with malware unless it's intentionally ........ 5 years later: I am still waiting

I don't know anything about blogs or banners but based upon this tutorial, I think you could use this free photo/graphics program.

Thanks for the suggestion. :thumbup: I've looked and downloaded a bunch of programs that might help so eventually I'll end up making one.
