[Closed] IMSORRYInternet Speed Monitor: PROBLEM

Hi, I noticed on the forum that someone else had a similar problem. It started approximately two days ago when my parents' computer started going beserk. I go to turn the computer on and the wallpaper shows up but there is no desktop, start menu, etc. I looked on other forums to fix this problem, and came across a antivirus program called Trojan Remover. The program seemed to solve the problem (my desktop came back), however, when browing through my computer's history I noticed a website named "www.zohark.com." I tried Window Washer to see if it would delete the traces of the website, which it did not. The computer worked again for a day, however when I went to turn it on the desktop again disappeared. Trojan Remover restored my desktop yet again, except now, after I searched on Yahoo!, something on the left hand side of the screen another window pops up that has "IMSORRYInternet Speed Monitor" which I don't think is good for my computer. Can anyone provide any assistance to get rid of this problem along with the "www.zohark.com." I would not like to restore the entire system. I am hardly an expert in computers, so anyone with a step-by-step play in how to solve this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Next:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.


(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

Next:

Download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, please delete it from your desktop and download this new version . It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

  • Close any open browsers and make sure you are disconnected from the net. Unplug the cable if need be before running combofix.
  • WARNING: IF you have not already done so Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet when it starts
  • Please do not re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review

****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

*If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.

The IMSORRY bar does NOT pop up anymore when I use Yahoo!, however, I still have the "www.zohark.com" website stored in the address bar of Internet Explorer. Here are the logs you requested.

Very important you do not reboot until instructed to.

Please download http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/RenV.exe


Open NOTEPAD.exe and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon .exe

Save this as Log.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag Log.txt into RenV.exe

When finished, it shall produce a new log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review

****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

*If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.
