Help!!! I'm infected with Internet Speed Monitor and it won't go away. Boy, am I so grateful for this forum… Wish I had the expertise to troubleshoot this kind of stuff. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Hi erk1313 and welcome to WhatTheTech


Temporarily disable Pest Patrol
Click on the Pest Patrol icon on the taskbar to open Pest Patrol
Go to Advanced Settings, and then select Active Protection.
De-select Start active protection when my computer starts
Choose Apply > Okay
Now reboot your computer normally
Note: re-enable this program when your machine is clean


Then download ComboFix to your desktop
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Note: Do not click ComboFix's window while it's running - it may cause it to stall!
  • If after ComboFix finishes you do not have internet access, then reboot your computer.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you, please post it in your next response.

Once complete, please post the ComboFix report along with a new HijackThis log.
