Hello sarah264

Welcome to the Tomcoyote forum! I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.
HijackThis logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need
your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that happens.

In order to help me help you, please observe the following while we work:
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't continue, we don't want to start all over again!
  • Understand that cleaning your computer can sometimes take multiple passes/posts,
and it's important to follow the steps as listed including re-running scans as listed
  • Please reply to this thread, do not start another.

If you can do those three things, everything should go smoothly
Hello sarah264

I do see signs of infection on your kids computer. I will need you to reinstall HiJackThis and the copy you already have we will delete later. If you have created a shortcut on your desktop I need you to right-click and delete it. We do not want it running from Temp folder.

Please do this first:
Hijackthis is running from a Temp folder. In order to create and keep backups, Hijackthis needs to run from it's own folder.

Download HijackThis and save to your Desktop. Click HERE
  • Double click on HJTSetup.exe and by default it should install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This
  • Make sure to read dialogue screen when installing and put a check in the box create a desktop Icon when you get to that prompt screen. This will create a short cut on your desktop.
  • Follow all the prompts, click Finish, and let the installer start HijackThis.
  • Click the Do a System Scan and Save a Log File option.
  • Notepad will open with the Hijackthis log, please post it's content here.
This is important to have done first.
———————————————————————

Now in this part we will have to disable (turn off) programs that will interfere (block) fix from cleaning computer.

Open AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5
  • On the main screen under Your Computer's security.
  • Click on Change state next to Resident shield. It should now change to inactive.
  • Close AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5
  • Right-click the AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 Tray Icon (bottom right corner of screen near your clock) and choose Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.
——————————————————————–

Next please do the following:

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) fom Here
  • Click save and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click on SmitfraudFix.exe that you saved to your desktop then click Run. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.
SmitfraudFix (cmd.exe) screen should open automatically, If it doesn't move to step #3. If cmd.exe screen did open skip to step #4.
  • Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
  • Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!
———————————————————————-

Make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1.Start HijackThis

[external image: Posted Image]

2. Click on the Open the Misc tool section button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button

[external image: Posted Image]

4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:

[external image: Posted Image]

5. Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save list button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply. Note: please uncheck word wrap under format in notepad

Post HJT Uninstall list in next reply
————————————————————————-

Please post these logs in your next reply to this thread with add Reply button at bottom of this page:
rapport.txt
HJT uninstall list
New HJT log
